Kyahn Daraee is a 3rd year dental student at OHSU. He was born and raised in Portland, OR. Despite always telling his parents he wanted to move to California, fast forward through almost eight years of school post-high school, and he still hasn’t found a reason to leave the great state of Oregon. He loves to golf, hike, camp, and take his black lab, Timber, on adventures, so Oregon has been the perfect fit for him, and his fiancé, Chloe.
After school, Kyahn hopes to work as an associate in a dental practice in the Portland area, with the goal of hopefully opening his own within five years of graduating.
Dental school has been a wonderful, yet sometimes difficult journey for Kyahn. He has kept himself busy with not only the school work, but by taking a very active role in his school’s ASDA chapter as the Chapter Development Chair for the last two years. Kyahn has also been in charge of organizing vendor fairs and setting up Lunch and Learns to bring in industry experts to give his fellow students valuable information of what they need to know before they graduate.
“The entire dental school process has taught me so much, and I am excited to join the amazing profession of dentistry in just a short 16 months (not that I am counting),” he says.
