Dental Liability Excess & Surplus (E&S) Insurance Program

Professional Liability Insurance Program for Dentists 

The Professional Protector Plan Excess & Surplus Lines Program is specifically designed for dental professionals that are unable to obtain professional liability insurance through a standard lines carrier.

Who Qualifies for this Type of Insurance?

  • Dentists with board orders who are in compliance
  • Dentists with past substance abuse who are currently in or have completed a treatment program
  • Dentists with claims severity or frequency
  • Dentists with suspensions on license(s) – however, must be current to insure
  • Dentists who have been cancelled, non-renewed or who have practiced without insurance (details must be provided at application for coverage)

What Limits are Available?

  • Minimum limits $100,000 per-claim / $300,000 aggregate
  • Maximum limits $1,000,000 per-claim / $3,000,000 aggregate
  • Minimum per-claim deductible is not required

  • Policies are written on a claims-made coverage form
  • Worldwide coverage*
  • Coverage written for all specialties, including oral surgeons
  • Prior acts coverage may be available
  • 12 month extended reporting period ERP option, 24 and 36 month options available
  • Corporate entity coverage for the named insured on a shared limit basis
  • No “cap” on the number of dentists within a group
  • No minimum premium or per-claim deductible
  • $5,000 First Aid supplemental payments
  • Multiple state practice locations are acceptable
  • *Worldwide coverage applies as long as claim is made and suit is brought in the US, US Territories & Possessions, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands or Canada.
